The test of the MAT: improving schools. Our final session of the day brings together three esteemed panellists to discuss the path to school improvement, with chair Unity Howard. If improving education is the ‘ultimate test’ of the MAT Board, what does it take to pass? What should be the board’s priorities and what is simply a distraction? Is there room for innovation and change? Is there a risk MATs pass the test and miss the target of improving lives and preparing young people for their future?

  • Sir David Carter, Executive Director of System Leadership at Ambition Institute

  • Jeremy Cooper, Managing Director of RM Education
