If improving                       education is the ‘ultimate test’ of the MAT Board, what does it take to pass? What should             be the board’s priorities and what is simply a distraction? Is there room for innovation                   and change? Is there a risk MATs pass the test and miss the target of improving lives and             preparing young people for their future?
